Titan XD concept

They wanted to use VALYRIAN STEEL

? Towing aids: trailer light check & backup camera


Additional 98kg would be required to meet the same structure requirements with mild steel alone!

Utilized 1 st Generation Titan Carryover Content

New FR PLR and ROOF RAILS but Common for all CAB types





Hydroform Design


Using Hydroforming in body structure is 1 st time usage in Nissan.

? Approximately 25%-30% section strength improvement allowing for thinner material at same performance


Nissan hydroform design is manufactured using PSH manufacturing because of the lower pressure required and the better control of wall thickness.





Keep deformation mode as Previous Generation

Improve B PLR bending structure with Roof Crush CM


1. Improve Side Roof rail intrusion

2. Improve B PLR UPR bending structure



SIDE ROOF and B PLR UPR joint structure improved from 1 st Generation Titan

Improved Global torsion stiffness also will improve Door & B PLR vibration


Bed Improvements

DESIGN CHANGES (FOR THE XD MODEL )

- BED FLOOR PANEL –UPGAGED BY 10% AND BEAD PATTERN CHANGED TO ENABLE 20% ADDITIONAL WELDING

- MID-SPAN #3 AND #4 CROSS MEMBERS UPGAGED BY 65% AND 30% RESPECTIVELY AND #4 SECTION INCREASED BY 30%

- ADDITIONAL BOLSTER #7 ON THE FLOOR FOR IMPROVED DURABILITY

- 8 BOLTS ADDED BETWEEN THE BED AND BOLSTERS FOR IMPROVED DURABILITY

- TAILBOLSTER MATERIAL UPGRADED TO A 97% HIGHER STRENGTH STEEL(440MPa)

- REAR STRUT INNER UPGAGED BY 28% AND UPGRADED TO A 97% HIGHER STRENGTH STEEL(440MPa)




? Titan XD SAE J2807 certified up to 12,310 lbs conventional tow rating

? Cooling (Davis Dam), Acceleration (12% grade), Handling (under steer & trailer sway), Braking, & Structure (SAE J2638)

? 1 st Light Duty Truck to offer factory-installed Gooseneck Hitch

? Key Advantages: improved stability, reduced sway, tighter turning radius, better maneuverability
